Happy New year! Nimmo Bay would like to welcome everyone to our 2011 season. Our web site is new, our virtual videos are new, as well as our pricing and adventures. It's your turn.

NEW NIMMO BAY WEBSITE WITH FIRST OF ITS KIND 360 VIRTUAL VIDEO TOURS!!

It is our pleasure to announce to you the launching of Nimmo Bay’s new, interactive website! This site will contain first of its kind, virtual 360 video and still tours showcasing what we do and where we go at Nimmo Bay.

You are in control as you click and point to where you are going and where you have been. With a push of the mouse, you can look up to the heavens or peer down the diamond blue crevasse of a 10,000 year old glacier. The 360 tours will feature our resort as well as all the adventures that take place in and around the area.

We've only had the 360 video tours online for 4 days, and already we have had over 250,000 individual visits! The response has been incredible and the views continue to rise at a rapid pace!

It is a whole new look, for a whole new decade, for a whole new Nimmo Bay.

NOTES FROM CRAIG: Fabulous Fall Fishing!

"This September and October were fabulous for coho fishing and I had the pleasure of joining our guests on two separate trips for a day each. On the first trip we caught 77 coho, all over 15 pounds, and on the second we caught 55 coho between 13 and 22 pounds! All catch and release! Not bad I’d say for one day's fishing. There were of course other heli-fishing trips during the late summer and fall, but for me, these two stood out. Fall fishing is growing in popularity and productivity….and the sun is still shining!"

NOTES FROM FRASER: New multi-purpose building and continuing partnership!

"I am so excited to announce that we are beginning construction on a new, multi-purpose, land based building at Nimmo Bay. This building will encompass a yoga studio, an exercise area and a spa. We hope to have the first stage completed for our 2011 season. Be sure to check our website for updates on this exciting addition.

Another notable program that we are continuing at Nimmo Bay for our 2011 season is the WickNimmo Adventure package. This combines 3 days at Nimmo Bay and 3 days at the Wickanninish Inn in Tofino. To learn more about this program visit www.nimmobay.wickinn.com

We are also continuing our partnership with the Clayoquot Wilderness Resort by offering another spectacular 6 day adventure with 3 days at Nimmo Bay and 3 days at Clayoquot. For more information on this adventure, visit www.horsepowersafaris.com

Furthermore, in conjunction with I Roam the World and Brian McCutcheon, Nimmo Bay and ROAM have created a 6 day multi-sport adventure. This combines 3 days at ROAM’s Chilko Lake resort property and 3 days at Nimmo Bay. For more information, please call Georgia Murray."

NIMMO BAY AND WORLD RENOWNED ARTIST, ROBERT BATEMAN, COLLABORATE:

Nimmo Bay’s long-standing commitment to conservation, sustainability and inspiring love of nature fits well with the goals of The Robert Bateman Centre. Groups (minimum 10 people per occasion) interested in experiencing Nimmo through the eyes of Robert Bateman, while contributing to a worthy cause, are invited to contact Craig or Georgia Murray at 1-800-837-HELI (4354) or e-mail craig@nimmobay.com or georgia@nimmobay.com

SAVE OUR WILD SALMON:

Nimmo Bay continues its struggle to help our wild salmon and to get fish farms out of our waters and onto land. Sea Lice, disease and fish farm waste continue to be pollutants for our wild fish and our oceans. In the past, many of our guests have donated generously to the efforts to save our salmon.

We have two new directives for 2011 and beyond. Along with our new, proactive pricing, we have initiated a sustainable salmon conservation charge of $150 PP, which combines all the fresh water fishing licenses necessary to fish with us together with a small donation to wild salmon research.

As well, we have included a link to the web site of Dr. Alexandra Morton, who has been the tireless advocate of wild salmon survival. You can purchase books and other important paraphernalia pertaining to wild salmon, while at the same time, assisting Dr. Morton in continuing her fight to make our coast lines in Canada a better and a much healthier place for all wild fish and the many sea creatures who inhabit our waters.

Please help us in our continuing work for wild salmon and oceans everywhere. And remember, when we save our wild salmon we are also saving the killer whales, grizzly bears, eagles, wolves and the many other creatures that make wild salmon their diet, which is a necessity for their survival. Food for thought.

JIM SALESTROM’S SONG FOR NIMMO:

Jim Salestrom (http://www.jimsalestrom.com) has been a guest at Nimmo a few times. Jim is a gifted singer, songwriter and guitar player. He performed with Dolly Parton for 10 years and John Denver for 11 years and is now a solo act about to commence on a world tour with Dolly herself. Jim’s experience was so dramatic he composed a song about Nimmo Bay and included it on his new CD, "Life's Good" (Jim's CD will be available for sale in our gift shop and on his website). Have a listen and perhaps you too will see and hear the magic.

NIMMO BAY LIMERICK CONTEST:

He or she who composes the best Nimmo related limerick (to be determined by a panel of highly educated judges) will win a beautiful Hardy Fly rod and reel. This will come complete with a custom, Swedish leather rod case and an absolutely necessary, on stream, leather bound drinking flask for those oh so magic moments of celebration over the big one just caught and released.

Send them in, or leave them here when you depart, no matter. This is an opportunity to showcase your true worth and wit. All the limericks will be posted on the web for everyone to see. The winner will be announced in our winter 2011/2012 newsletter and their picture will be displayed in our memory room in the main lodge.

"To catch coho so big was the wish
Of an urban lady by the name of Trish
With a flick of her fly, then a set and a cry
Fish on, then the net, then her dish"
